Create Ad Campaigns

There is a step-by-step process to creating ad campaigns across the different ad platforms.

The first step in creating a Google Search Ads campaign is to have a Google account. This can be a Gmail account but also an account created using your business email.

You go to this website to create a Google Ads account (https://ads.google.com/). Once you have an account, you can create your first campaign. Google will help you through the process using a wizard or you can do it yourself. Here are the typical steps:

• Select a goal for your campaign
• Select a campaign type (search ads)
• Enter your website
• Name your campaign
• Select the location to target your ads
• Set a budget
• Select a bidding strategy
• Create ad groups and keywords
• Create ads

Facebook Ads are best created in the Facebook Business Manager (https://business.facebook.com/). You create an account for your business by logging using your personal Facebook account.

Then, you create an Ad Account for your business. You will also want to link your Facebook Page.

The process to create an ad campaign is:

• Select an objective
• Name the campaign
• Select a location
• Select detailed targeting
• Determine placement for your ad
• Set budget
• Select an ad format
• Select media to display on the ad
• Enter ad text and links

Google Displays Ads can be created in the same Google Ads account as Google Search Ads. The key is to select a different campaign type. The steps are similar until you create the ads. There are two types of ads to either be responsive ads or uploading display ads your created in a graphic design software.

To create an ad, there are preliminary steps to do on Google and Facebook.  Once you have your accounts created, you can follow the steps to create an individual ad campaign with a number of options.
