A website is a program that is hosted on a computer that is always connected to the Internet. Like all computers and software, there is a chance someone could try to do something malicious in the form of a virus or malware. But for an interior design or demolition services business website, someone might just try to take over your website software to use it to attack other things. So, all websites need to be secure.

There are a couple of ways to protect your website. The first is to let your website hosting company handle it. The second is to install WordPress plugins to provide security.

The most important thing to help with the security of your WordPress website is to make sure you frequently update WordPress, themes and plugins.

Many hosting companies will provide security features to protect your website. These typically are found on the more expensive website hosting plans. But the benefit is your website security is handled by professional security experts working for the website hosting companies. This is my recommended solution. My recommended website hosting company is WP Engine and they provide security to your website.

If you are using a shared website hosting company, you can provide security directly in your website.  I recommend the plugin called Wordfence (https://www.wordfence.com/).  There is a free and paid version.  The difference is the paid version gets updates daily while the free one gets updates 30 days later.

You need to provide extra security for your interior design or demolition services business website.  The best and easiest method is to select a website hosting company that will do it for you.  If not, a plugin called Wordfence is great.
