Tools to brainstorming a website sitemap

A website is composed of many pages that are linked together. As you build your website, the number of pages and their links grow organically. However, a better way is to plan this organization when you first start building your website.

This organization of website pages can be displayed graphically in a sitemap. A sitemap is just a picture of how the pages of your website are linked together. It’s more simple form could be a hand drawing on a piece of paper. At the center is your home page and the links to sub-pages could be drawn around the home page with lines drawn between them.

There are a number of software tools and services that can help with a website sitemap. They can start from scratch or look at an existing website and show how the current sitemap is done.
